Adventure trip – BEACH, MOUNTAINS AND BACK WATERS

A UNIQUE TOUR

The southern part of India is one of the most popular destinations on the subcontinent. The tropical climate brings in a fascinatingly diverse vegetation that is a unique treat to city eyes. The influence of Christianity since the 16th century (Landing of Vasco da Gama in 1498 in Calicut, Kerala) has ushered in a multifaceted mixed culture; you will see Hindus, Christians and Muslims peacefully coexisting in paradisiac surroundings.

The trips offered, take you on a journey to the most beautiful places in the South: From the world famous backwaters, to the coconut and palm fringed beaches of the Malabar coast, into the tea and spice plantations up mountainous terrains and right inside the holiest chambers of the most impressive temples. The special feature of the trip though is that you get to dive directly into everyday Indian life. That is what makes our tours so special – the opportunity for personal encounters with the “exotic” everyday culture of the people of the land.

WHAT SETS US APART

These tours have already won several awards, including the “Palme d’Or” of Geo Saison and the “TODO!” prize. The awards labelled our discovery tour as the “Most Innovative Travel program” for bringing travellers up and close to the enriching and truly beautiful experience of the Indian culture.
Your German & English speaking hosts, Dr. Mathew and Leelamony Moozhiyil have lived for more than 20 years in Germany and will be your “bridge builder” in your journey through India. The family run company attaches great importance to environmental sustainability: The produce is mostly home grown and organic and through your tour you will live in the heart of nature’s best.

NATURE AT ITS BEST

Kerala- the name of this southern Indian state, literally means “land of coconuts.” The lush greenery and crispy fresh vegetation transports you into another world. Let the gentle breezes caress you as you walk through the Palm Beach of Malabar; immerse yourself in the soothing waters of the Arabian Sea; try a hand at fishing with the local fishermen or simply relax with the gentle sound of waves lapping the shore under the shade of a palm tree on the beach.

The trip also takes you to the idyllic backwaters. You take a boat trip in the line boat, which will take you through the meandering network of the waterways. You will also get to be a guest in one of the villages that are located right on the backwaters.

The Cardamom mountains are host to a very different flora and fauna, which makes it one among the world’s major biodiversity hotspots putting it on the map as aUNESCO World Heritage Site. We organize mountain / jungle walks and picnic trips where you get to see the “Aruvikuzhi Waterfalls” and enjoy the absolutely breathtaking views in the “Cumbum Valley”.

DAY TRIPS & TOURS

On every trip, you will be accompanied by expert guides who are well acquainted with every by lane and sight. The tour program is continuously refreshed in keeping with the amazing (growth) dynamics of the ever changing beauty that is India. Your hosts are intimately acquainted with travel in South India and are well aware of the dynamics of development, which gives them a vantage point to build your travel program accordingly.

The course of your trip is designed so that your travel time is minimized to ensure you get sufficient time to get to know the places you visit and experience its specialities. Your itinerary will include a number of these very insightful and enjoyable day trips.

You will spend most nights in resorts that are operated by the Moozhiyil family themselves. However even when you are at the quaint little village stops, you can be sure that you will be in good hands. Accommodation is arranged with establishments with whom we have a long-term cooperation and who are aware of the standards and likes of our foreign clients.

LIVE IN AN INDIAN VILLAGE

The country holds an otherworldly charm that never fails to fascinate visitors, and you will get to immerse yourself in that culture and way of life that is almost alien to the Western world: the food with its exotic spices; the importance of family in a communitarian society; the climate; the depth of spirituality and more. The more you gain insight into the mystical world of India, the more memorable your holiday will be.

It is this “meeting of cultures” that is the guiding principle of the Moozhiyil family business. Your hosts are not only excellent mediators to your experience of Indian culture, they will be your channel to the Indian life. They will also create numerous opportunities to participate in the daily life of a village such as attending a typical wedding celebration, or joining in for a local festivity. You can be sure our itinerary will not include the usual routes well-trodden by mass tourism. With us, you dive into the real India, untouched by commercial tourism.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR ITINERARY

The itinerary gives you the convenience to enjoy India your way, to the fullest. In a country where travel does not always work according to posted schedules, you can rely on the local knowledge of your hosts as they ensure that your exotic adventure does not get disrupted in any way.

The itinerary is flexible. If you have any special requirements, we will try our best to incorporate it into the travel plan. Thanks to their many years of experience in hosting, Mathew and Leelamony can make such individualization possible. Talk to them; they are there to make your trip as comfortable as it can get.
